Note from the President
Since 1933, S.H. Bell Company has been heavily involved with serving steel and other basic industries. With the opening of our first Pittsburgh area warehouse facility in 1954, S.H. Bell Company pioneered the concept of delivering raw materials via water and rail to staging areas, from which the company could service its customers by providing storage, handling and final distribution – mainly by truck – to consuming industries on an “as needed basis.”
The business expanded over the years in response to increasing demand from off-shore producers and traders. Today, the company receives a wide variety of industrial products from more than 20 countries around the world, and distributes them from five warehouse facilities in strategic locations.
Aided by new technology, S.H. Bell Company is striving to continuously improve its efficiency, quality and response time.
